Back in the Ring

Hi All! I've been kind of out of the social media world a bit. As you may have read in the last post, it has been a little chaotic with all the various things going on!

To be honest, I have been caught up with all the things going on in my head! "I'm gaining weight! I need to work out... Yes, I'm gonna work out. *sigh* but I'm so tired... ehhh, I'll just go home after work. My pants don't fit the same anymore. I need to work out." And the cycle continues.

Another thought crossing my mind: "I should go back to school. It's really just expensive networking. Ugh, I hate networking. I'm so bad at it. I never know what to talk about. But school would be good. Oh, it's too expensive. Maybe I won't. But I should...."

Anyone else going similar things?

I was talking to a girlfriend who JUST went back to school herself. We both always said, "School is not for us. We're never going back!" We both thought we were done after our bachelor's degree! But with the way things have been with the job market and just the way the economy has been and just... growth in people, I've realized how important it is to stay on top of everything. To stay sharp. I've also realized, after my talk, that really, I'm just insecure and need to work on my own confidence, which means networking and small talking... even if it means doing it while back in school.

I'm still sitting on the fence. There are so many other things happening in my life right now and I really just need to focus on myself. And learning to be comfortable with who I am. Confession. I am not comfortable wearing dresses (not all the time anyway) and shorts because I've always felt insecure about the way my belly/thighs looked in them (especially with all these cute petite bloggers out there!). I think I need to work with that first... and move on from there.

What do you think? Are there insecurities that you deal with? If so, what?

Take 5

I know I've been absent from the blog world. I've had a LOT going on lately...

  1. While we were in the Pacific Northwest, our camera broke :( We didn't even have a chance to get photos of the wedding we were there for!
  2. We've been undergoing a database conversion at work... it's a lot of work! My mind has been wrapped around this new program and it's been draining.
  3. Got the new iPhone! I'm finally caught up with the rest of mobile technology #nomoreblackberrys...ever!
  4. My boss was going to be out of the office for some time to take care of some things which meant there was going to be a lot of prep work for me to do.
  5. My boss passed away while he was gone. It's been a big loss for us at the office. We've been emotionally challenged each day.
  6. The friendboy's birthday was a couple of months ago! We celebrated with a Justin Bieber cake, friends from near and far, and TACOS!
  7. Went to the Tanaka Farms Pumpkin Patch with our friends and their kiddos. We had a blast picking fresh vegetables and pumpkins!
  8. My Birthday was a month ago! We had some delicious dinner and delicious cake(s)... I had waaay too many cakes!

This is just a small random list of the things that have been going on...  I haven't disappeared. I promise. I've just been mentally and emotionally tied up :(

Here are a couple of photos I've managed to snatch up with my nifty phone camera. DSLR still needs to go in for repair :(

Got myself a new iPad Mini! It's been nice for travel! Of course I got myself a den.m bar iPad mini sleeve! :)

To come... my final review of my jeans!! Yes, I finally got them!

Pacific Northwest :: Part One

Hi All! I know, I know... I've been really MIA lately. I apologize. It has been chaos at work... we're implementing a new database in our office and it's been VERY time consuming. I have been working 13-15 hour days on the regular!

I am glad to say that I've had a chance to travel (as guilty as I feel for leaving in the midst of the chaos at work) to Seattle and Portland. Still here now and still eating my way through the two cities. It's my first time in Portland so... I'll definitely be sharing my journey with you all!

Just a quick few snapshots for now:

San Francisco Sunnies

I'm slow... I know. I have all these things to share with you but have had difficulty finding a moment to upload all these photos!

As you recall, I had mentioned that I would be going up to San Francisco for a weekend. That was... a couple of weekends ago.

In any case, I wanted to share the awesome view we had from our hotel! We were lucky enough to stay at the W Hotel in SoMa.

We were getting ready to go to Napa with another friend of ours that lives in the city.

It was slightly overcast initially, in San Francisco.

We had a view that over looked a lot of nice buildings, playgrounds and parks, and Bloomingdales... which was very dangerous and tempted my girlfriend and I everyday...

And I just loved the color of the blue walls and the pink floral pillow accents... had to take a photo with my grey shoes up against them!

I love San Francisco! I want to go back!

:: Outfit Details ::
Sunnies top :: Zara, similar
Skinny Jeans :: Gap
Grey Canvas Shoes :: Urban Outfitters, similar
Gold Chain Necklaces (old) :: Tokyo, similar

This weekend I am planning to go to Vegas! I have not been there in so long! It's going to be quite a short trip but hopefully the food and the company in those short moments, make up for it! :)

Have a great weekend everyone!
